Litigation and dispute resolution specialist Emyr Kerfoot joins Excello Law

Emyr Kerfoot, a specialist in litigation and dispute resolution, has joined national, new-model commercial law firm Excello Law from Knights Professional Services in Chester where he was a partner heading up the dispute resolution team.

He qualified in 2004 with Pinsent Masons in Leeds before moving to Aaron & Partners in Chester and subsequently joining Knights.

Emyr has significant experience in shareholder and partnership disputes, general contractual, commercial and property disputes, and also professional negligence matters.  In addition, Emyr regularly advises on insolvency matters, both corporate and personal. He has extensive experience of conditional fee agreements, and the funding of litigation generally.

Emyr will be based at Excello Law’s new office at 1 City Place in Chester, although the firm operates a fully agile working model for its lawyers, giving them the freedom to choose when, where and how they work.  This was one of Emyr’s key considerations when moving to Excello Law:  “The greater flexibility offered by Excello Law will allow me to enhance the service for my clients, giving me both freedom and control over key aspects of how I work.  It’s an exciting opportunity to join a new office with other highly regarded commercial solicitors in the region”.

George Bisnought, managing director of Excello Law, commented: “Emyr’s experience and contacts bring added value to our commercial litigation and dispute resolution team.  He has extensive experience working for a range of businesses from owner-managed enterprises to large corporates.  Our innovative business model puts our lawyers directly in charge of how they manage their client business and continues to prove attractive to senior specialists.  We are very pleased to welcome him to Excello Law.”
