Based in Widnes, Cheshire, Denca Controls is an automation company with turnover in excess of £10m. The business has now confirmed its acquisition by a division of Swedish-based global industrial group Axel Johnson International.
Denca Controls has established a “strong reputation, deep technical competence and a customer-focused way of working,” per Axel Johnson Industrial Automation Division Managing Director Anton Kullh. With more than 100 employees, the business serves a broad sector range of industrial customers including Kellogg’s. The experienced management team has been led since 1995 by co-founders Alan Brennan and John Talbot.
Robin Gill, Corporate Lawyer at Excello, acted for the founders of Denca Controls. Robin comments:
“I am delighted to have supported the shareholders of Denca Controls with this significant cross-border transaction. Denca Controls has built an outstanding reputation in automation controls for over 30 years.
Our team of experienced transactional lawyers included colleagues Victoria Edge and Sarah King, who provided commercial property and employment advice respectively. We worked closely with the clients’ and the buyer’s advisers to complete the sale on the best possible terms.
For over 20 years I have been helping shareholders in privately-owned companies navigate through to their successful exit. It was a great deal to support the clients with, and we wish everyone at Denca Controls every future success.”
Alan Brennan, co-founder of Denca Controls, comments:
“We enjoyed working with Robin Gill and the team at Excello Law throughout. Their discreet professionalism, calm manner and vast experience benefited us immensely.”
Working alongside Excello Law were Jeremy Cole of Cole Associates Corporate Finance and Rob Davies of Mitchell Charlesworth Accountants.
The deal has received coverage in Insider Media and The Business Desk.
