Spears 500 Review
One of my principal specialities is moving people around the world,’ says Excello Law‘s Simon Goldring, who frequently supports UHNWs and family offices with connections to far flung destinations in South America, South Africa, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific. Drawing on more than 30 years of experience, Goldring often assists with the establishment of trusts, preparing wills and residency issues.
Moving to Excello, the former McDermott Will & Emery and Trowers & Hamlins adviser says, has provided him with flexibility in how he interacts with clients. ‘What they want is someone like me who has a lot of experience, to have this holistic view of their affairs – but they don’t necessarily want me to do the donkey work because I’m too expensive.’
Meanwhile, the increased flexibility in his work post-pandemic allows Goldring to support clients away from his usual base in Dubai. ‘Today I’m speaking to you from Sri Lanka – tomorrow, it could be Dubai.’
‘I think what’s happened is that people have realised that Dubai – it’s a real hub for business. They also realise that the legal systems are very good.
