Property development lawyer Becky Smyth has joined national, new-model firm Excello Law. Based in Exeter, Becky has significant experience across the housing and agriculture sectors advising landowners and regional house-builders, with a specialism for affordable housing and rural development projects.
Qualifying in 2002, Becky acts for vendors and those acquiring land for new-build development through a variety of delivery models. She has specific expertise working for Community Land Trusts providing bespoke housing in rural areas, as well as acting for private landowners, private and public sector developers and registered providers of social housing covering land acquisitions, joint venture projects, land promotion, regeneration schemes and alternative deal structures.
On joining Excello Law, Becky commented: “This move gives me the complete freedom to work with my clients and develop partnerships with them as an inherent part of their team. I am based in the heart of a rural community, and have a farming background, so bring both significant legal experience and a commitment to developing projects and partnerships that benefit the region and give local people homes and security. ”
Joanne Losty, director at Excello Law, said: “Becky has extensive knowledge of the property development sector in the South West and brings valuable, additional expertise to our property and estates teams. She continues to work on her family farm so has a truly practical understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing landowners and developers today. We are delighted to welcome her to the firm.”
