Excello Law Welcomes Jaspreet Lyall

Wea re pleased to welcome Jaspreet Lyall to Excello Law as a Planning Partner. Jaspreet is a dual-qualified Barrister and Solicitor in both the UK and Canada, bringing nearly two decades of invaluable experience in the planning sector.

Throughout his career, Jaspreet has held senior roles within UK councils, including Telford and Wrekin Council, Milton Keynes Council, and most recently at Hertfordshire County Council. His extensive expertise covers a broad range of contentious and non-contentious planning matters, such as section 106 obligations, Biodiversity Net Gain covenants, Affordable Housing viability reviews, planning enforcement, and planning appeals.

Jaspreet’s practice also includes advising on complex Judicial Reviews, Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, and planning permissions for Renewable Energy development. Based in Coventry, he is well-positioned to deliver tailored, practical solutions to his clients’ planning needs.

When asked about his decision to join Excello Law, Jaspreet shared his enthusiasm for the firm’s innovative approach:

“I wanted an opportunity to work in an innovative firm that values its partners as clients and can assist them in achieving their goals.”

As a consultant lawyer, Jaspreet sees this role as a chance to embrace entrepreneurship and enjoy the freedom to shape his practice while being rewarded for his hard work:

“The freedom to be entrepreneurial and be rewarded for hard work is what being a consultant lawyer means to me.”

Outside of the legal world, Jaspreet is a fitness enthusiast with a passion for completing as many National Trails as possible. When he’s not exploring the great outdoors, he enjoys tackling the occasional (and occasionally frustrating!) sudoku puzzle.

We are thrilled to have Jaspreet on board and look forward to seeing the impact of his expertise on our planning practice. Welcome to Excello Law, Jaspreet!
