Mick Hewitt, a Partner at Excello Law, has over 25 years’ experience in commercial property transactions. Mick has previously practised at leading firms including DWF, Weightmans and Glaisyers, advising on a broad range of complex real estate matters.
Mick’s experience encompasses large-scale development projects, corporate support on mergers and acquisitions, real estate finance, and transactions within the leisure, care and hospitality sectors. Mick’s depth of expertise enables him to deliver commercially focused, strategic advice across a diverse portfolio of property work.
Mick also brings valuable insight from hands-on experience outside private practice, including roles in industry, international business start-ups, and construction across the UK, China, the United States and Spain. This perspective allows him to understand client priorities and provide clear, pragmatic and commercially aligned advice.
Mick 's Experience
- Mick Hewitt has recently acted for two developers engaged in four inner city developments sites in Manchester, Preston and Hull, being multi-million-pound acquisitions and developments, subject to planning into mixed use projects, including retail and hotels.
- As part of his general instructions, Mick regularly deals with commercial lenders in respect of his client’s acquisition and development financial requirements, providing corporate support to his colleagues when required.
- Mick’s general work involves a combination of reviewing real estate titles, negotiating and drafting contracts, leases, lease surrenders and regrants, options, variations, assignments and novation’s, overage provisions, SME acquisitions, management company matters, corporate support and real estate finance.
- He has recently acted in respect of a multi-million-pound acquisition and development of a redundant high street retail giant’s ex prominent city centre unit and surrounding buildings for redevelopment into over 160 residential units.
Mick Hewitt enjoys property refurbishments and development, always buying a challenge which can be enhanced. He likes to keep fit by working out at his local gym and enjoys skiing, scuba diving and Lakeland trips when he gets the time.
