Martyn Holland has over 40 years’ experience in transactions covering all aspects of Real Estate including commercial property sales, acquisitions and leasing, commercial and residential property development and forward funding and pre-lets. Martyn currently spends some of his time on property management of schemes developed and retained by clients. He advises both developers and landowners in connection with planning promotion and collaboration agreements and all ancillary areas such as easements and dealing with restrictive covenants.
Martyn has extensive experience in deals involving mines and minerals and has advised mining companies on opencast coal mines and ancient mining rights in the Forest of Dean. Latterly he has advised landowner clients on options and leases of renewables such as wind turbine developments, solar farms and EV charging stations.
Martyn's Experience
- Acting for quarry operator in leases of a limestone quarry with associated waste disposal and restoration;
- Acting for the mineral owner on a clay stock disposal agreement to a canal restoration charity;
- Acting for the landlord on grant of an underground limestone mine lease;
- Representing several agricultural landowners on the grant of options for leases of solar farms;
- Acting for a hotel operator in the grant of leases for EV charging stations.
When not working Martyn enjoys spending time with his family and walking their Shetland Sheepdogs, listening to and playing music (the latter principally guitar and bass at his local church), flying a light aircraft and cycling (though not at the same time). Otherwise he can be found enjoying reading historical fiction.
