Larry is a primarily a dispute resolution lawyer with significant experience in many areas of law including; bankruptcy & insolvency, construction, contractual disputes, debt recovery & enforcing judgments, director’s disqualification & misfeasance, property & probate disputes and professional negligence claims.

Having been employed in the financial services sector immediately before qualifying as a solicitor, Larry also has experience in dealing with investment, insurance and assurance claims, including Force Majeure disputes.

Larry gained over 20 years’ experience in other industries including sales, management and commercial experience in various industries such as; education, FMCG; distribution & logistics, construction and recruitment before becoming a solicitor, making Larry unique among his contemporaries.

To the satisfaction of his many and varied private and commercial clients, which are based both in UK and Europe and many of whom have dealt with him throughout his years in practice, Larry has successfully settled both in court and by ‘alternative methods of dispute resolution’ many complex and valuable disputes.

Larry also acts in other areas of law such as agricultural & commercial property and planning law.

Larry's Experience

  • Successfully concluded by both mediation and litigation several commercial contractual disputes for an Italian manufacturer of complex CNC machines, each machine costing between circa £250,000 and £750,000
  • Successfully brought a claim and defended a counterclaim in respect of breach of terms of hire involving two UK PLC’s, value of claim and counter claim, circa £500,000
  • Successfully brought a claim of fraud by one director of a property development company against a second director, value of fraud was circa £325,000
  • Recovered many debts (too many to remember) of various sums and where necessarily enforced such judgments for many clients in many varied fields of work such as recruitment, supply of goods and services, the motor vehicle industry and construction

When not working Larry is a keen runner, skier and golfer who, being a former union and league player, coach, and referee enjoys watching rugby and football as well as assisting his wife with her equestrian activities.  He also enjoys playing cards and board games, travel, music and reading.

He is a town councillor in Congleton and a member of the Congleton Partnership.

I instructed Excello Law to represent me as an individual for a breach of contract claim against a multi national company with a 2 billion dollar turnover. Larry used his years of experience to know when to doggedly press the Claimant when we required a response and push back hard when they tried to do the same.  This consistent approach, combined with Larry methodically dismantling the Claimant’s claim, brought them to ask for mediation.  The outcome was that we settled for a faction of what they had originally claimed, allowing us to bring matters to a close and focus our energy on building our business.
