Julie's Experience

  • Advised a couple with multi-million-pound farming and business assets on how to structure their wills, taking into account their different needs and wishes and difficult family relationships.
  • Administered a multi-million-pound estate with over 70 investments, and numerous taxable lifetime gifts.  Advised the family on how to protect their inheritance for future generations by creating a discretionary trust via a deed of variation.
  • Appointed by the Court as an independent administrator of an estate, as the families involved could not work together.  One family had instructed 4 sets of solicitors before I became involved and was able to pragmatically deal with the estate and bring it to a conclusion.
  • Prepared a Will for an unmarried wealthy terminally ill business owner.  Advised client to get married and establish a trust in his Will to make provision for his partner and children from a previous relationship.  My advice saved the estate £800k in inheritance tax.
  • Prepared numerous Wills for clients who have found the process extremely emotionally challenging, which has involved considerable perseverance to ensure that the clients achieve their goals of having a Will in place which reflects their wishes.

Julie lives in beautiful North Yorkshire with her family, which includes their Jack Russell MaxShe loves travelling, cycling, music, food and politics.

You’ve been a real asset supporting me and the family.

I have always valued your commonsense approach and you are a first-class lawyer.

Many thanks, once again, for your support and guidance throughout this process.

Thank you for trying to make this process as straightforward as possible for me. I really appreciate it!

I have valued your help so much, and particularly your kindness. As you might expect your help was significant after the loss of my Mum. Genuinely so grateful for your consideration and care. Thank you so much, your input was more important than you might know. Thank you for helping myself and my Mum so well over the years.
