John Osborne is a Family Partner with decades of experience acting for clients in complex divorce and financial proceedings. Over the years John has featured in the top legal directories such as Legal 500 and Chambers.
He has also advised in many challenging and complex children’s cases some of which have been listed in the law reports as precedents.
Though based in Cumbria, John has acted for clients nationally and internationally and is very flexible with how he can arrange appointments.
John thrives on resolving cases in ways that can avoid court and has vast experience with Private FDR hearings and roundtable meetings.
John is also a qualified Collaborative Lawyer.
John's Experience
- Acting of an offshore company, intervening in divorce financial remedy proceedings;
- Acting for a divorcing client who was owed sums from an Employee Ownership Trust;
- Acting for a lottery winner in a case involving complex arguments as to non-matrimonial and matrimonial property;
- Acting for the spouse of a famous rock band member and navigating complex tax and earnings issues.
Outside of work John Osborne enjoys composing and recording songs with his bands Northern Sky and Sunset Flight and has released a number of singles and an album on Spotify and Apple Music.
John also enjoys walking in the Lake District fells, playing golf to a very low standard and skiing at a very steady pace.
