Helen Daley is an experienced construction and engineering solicitor.  She routinely acts on behalf of developers, contractors, sub- contractors and suppliers in connection with a broad range of disputes arising out of standard (JCT/ NEC) and bespoke construction contracts.

Helen’s primary focus is construction adjudication.  She has acted for clients in connection with a broad range of referrals including ‘smash and grab’ and true value claims, defects disputes, negligence and/ or breach of contract claims, abandonment and suspension, repudiation and termination claims, contamination, debt, ‘final account’ disputes and more.

She also acts for clients in connection with enforcement of adjudication decisions and construction claims in the Technology and Construction Court.

Helen also advises on the negotiation and drafting of construction contracts.

Helen holds an MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution.  She is a member of TecSA, the SCL and Women in Property.

Helen 's Experience

  • Acted on behalf of a subcontractor in connection with a dispute over the true value of the works it had carried out to the Northern Line extension project;
  • Acted on behalf of a civil engineering contractor in connection with a disputed notice of defects at a large residential development in London, UK;
  • Acted on behalf of a developer in the recovery of loss and damage following asbestos contamination at a development site;
  • Acted on behalf of a main contractor in connection with multiple ‘smash and grab’ adjudications, including a dispute over the validity of payment notices issued by the Employer;
  • Assisted in the settlement of multiple disputes on behalf of a national utilities provider

Helen enjoys swimming, seeing family and friends and walking with her two dogs.
