Amanda is an experienced employment law specialist, having worked in private practice in London with Wedlake Bell and also as an in-house solicitor most recently with EEF Ltd. She represents both individuals and companies and her experience includes both contentious and non contentious employment law. Amanda is an experienced employment law tribunal advocate having conducted over 170 tribunal cases with an excellent win/opposition withdrawal rate.

The focus of Amanda’s approach is offering prompt, pragmatic, commercial and solution focused advice in clear language and free of legal jargon. She recognises that understanding clients’ business or individual objectives is a key part of this process. Amanda has also delivered various employment training courses and employment law updates

Away from work Amanda can be found enjoying walks with her dogs; taking photographs; holidaying in Cornwall, cooking and spending time with friends.

Amanda is very easy to work with and very professional. Her knowledge and skill in dealing with the Employment Tribunals is excellent. Amanda provides advice and guidance on a whole range of employment law issues and helped us to ensure that our processes and procedures were fair and legal. She applies her knowledge of employment law with commercial and common sense. Amanda always delivers and is a pleasure to work with, I would not hesitate in recommending her.

Amanda was recommended to me by a trusted business colleague and I immediately found her approachable, confident and extremely knowledge in all areas of employment law. Amanda very quickly grasped what I considered to be a somewhat surreal and complex scenario. We agreed the objectives and Amanda clearly communicated the critical path, together with the associated risks. I was kept updated at all times throughout the process to a mutually satisfactory conclusion.

I retain a strong perception of Amanda’s complete honesty and integrity. I really did feel that my best interests were always her top priority. I always found her engaging, ebullient and a downright pleasure to do business with. I would recommend Amanda without hesitation.

Amanda has been excellent with her service to me, extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy, pragmatic, approachable throughout the whole process. The service she provided me was without doubt 1st class. I am most grateful to Amanda to whom I would have no hesitation in recommending her services.

Amanda and I have worked together, and I must say that she is such an expert on employment matters, & lays down all options possible and the outcomes of such. She is very thorough explaining all options, consequences, and gives advice based on the best interests of her clients. On top of these, she looks after her clients’ welfare as well ensuring that clients make an informed decision.

After joining Excello Law I needed to find an employment lawyer to help an old and very good friend of mine going through an extremely stressful and upsetting employment problem. I chose Amanda who dealt with the situation with expertise, sensitivity and speed, and for a very competitive fee. My friend felt very vulnerable and fatalistic about his prospects at the outset but Amanda quickly gained his confidence and trust and she achieved a fabulous result for him. I do not hesitate in recommending her to others

I approached Amanda at the start of 2013. I needed advice with regard to a redundancy and work matter. I had spoken to a number of solicitors but it was Amanda who really helped, gave me excellent advice and was clearly looking out for my best interests and not her own. Many solicitors would go forward with a tribunal case regardless of the outcome but Amanda gave me very clear advice. Amanda went through all the facts with such detail and questioned me to cover every aspect of the situation. She had a very in-depth knowledge of employment law. She made the entire situation so easy for me and really put me at ease. I was impressed with her approach and the advice she gave me. I would not hesitate to refer her to fellow friends and colleagues.

Amanda was a true partner, who time after time provided well-thought-out legal advice, listening to our challenges and developing solutions that really met the needs of the business.

Amanda supported us in all aspects of employment law including TUPE, unfair dismissal, redundancy, unions, working time, family-friendly and discrimination issues, while also appearing as a solicitor advocate in employment tribunals.

Amanda’s experience of working in partnership with the HR teams in developing up to date policies and procedures as well as supporting them on day-to-day employment issues meant we saw an overall improvement in our employee relations performance; I would have no hesitation recommending Amanda.

I have known and worked with Amanda now for over 3 years and in that time I have found her extremely professional and a pleasure to work with.

One project we worked on together was to deliver Dignity and Diversity training to 120 multi- cultural employees here at Brompton Bicycle. Her communication and people skills were excellent, the presentation easy to understand and follow, and a day that could have been hard work for our employees was tuned into a fun and proactive learning event for all. Grievances and Disciplinary fell after the training, as employees became aware of, and understood, Dignity and Diversity and their part in it.

In fact the event was so successful that employees asked for it again the following year!

Other areas I have replied on Amanda for support and advise is in Employment Law; again her expertise and quick understanding of the situation impressed me.

I can highly recommend her for the opportunity that you have available, she is a pleasure to work with and I look forward to the next occasion we have to work together.

Amanda is great at everything that she has helped me with, how do I choose what to feature? Amanda is the consumate professional. She has a deep understanding of her subject matter and her advice can be relied upon. She has another quality that is rare and that is she is able to make you comfortable in conversations with her. Some lawyers cause you to be very formal with them. When discussing matters with Amanda you get a definite feeling that she is on your side and is trying to apply the law in a pragmatic business approach so that decisions can be made. Having said that she is incisive and will tell you how it is, good, bad or indifferent. In every case that I used her she helped to formulate our position and plans to achieve a satisfactory outcome. A pleasure to work with.

I had the privilege of working with Amanda when she was engaged as an Employment Solicitor for the EEF of which B&W Group are members.

She gave advice and support on many and varied employment issues up to and including representation at Tribunal.

Her advice was always technically sound and thought through. I was particularly impressed by the fact that she never lost sight of the reality of problems and root causes.

She is honest and prepared to give council that whilst was not always what we wanted to hear was in truth what we had to hear!

I have no hesitation in recommending Amanda to and individual or organisation seeking help in Employment Law no matter how complex the issues.

I worked with Amanda on a number of ER cases. During that time Amanda was extremely helpful and and knowledgeable. She always discussed the issue with us fully, provided advice and communicated a number of solutions whilst always considering the commercial aspects of the business.

I found Amanda to be an excellent communicator and an expert in her field. I highly recommend her and would be only too happy to work with her again.

Amanda helped and advice our business on employment law from mid-2006 to late-2012, during that period of six years the business went through a major change in ownership and Amanda was always there to advise us through that labyrinth of changes that the senior management team faced. I very much enjoyed personally and the business certainly benefitted working with Amanda within that period.

Amanda’s attention to detail was second to none, whether it be in the planning or executing on an employment tribunal practice, through to preparation of employees handbooks. Amanda had the unique ability to break down very complicated legal situations, into very manageable portions, pragmatically and sensitively. I would never hesitate to highly recommend Amanda for any of your employment law requirements.

Amanda and I never lost a case during our 5 year relationship. Pragmatic and thorough she brings a human and common sense approach to UK employment law

“Amanda was absolutely brilliant when I left my previous firm; not just on the lawyer fine print aspect but in negotiating a successful exit and helping to get my head in check. You pay for the lawyer but you get a life coach thrown in for good measure.”

Amanda offered me clear and insightful advice at all times and was able to simplify what to me seemed a muddled situation surrounding payment in lieu of notice and variation to my contracted notice period. Thankfully her pragmatic approach and ability to explain things in a straightforward way helped calm and reassure me and for that I am very grateful. If you are looking for someone who knows her stuff when it comes to employment law then Amanda at Excello Law is definitely that person and I cannot recommend her more highly.

Amanda Hudson has provided me with extremely valuable guidance and professional expertise on different matters regarding employment issues, giving me confidence which enabled a highly successful outcome. I would certainly recommend Amanda Hudson to anyone seeking employment law advice from a professional, experienced solicitor. Thanks again Amanda.
