Adrien Herbert is an experienced commercial lawyer having worked mainly in-house: adept in providing expert legal direction for multi-regional mature markets across IT, media, research, publishing, telecommunications and industrial leasing she supports her client’s commercial leadership team to control and minimise risk.

Adrien commenced her career with the largest communications and media group in the world, since when she has advised others in the telecommunications market and across all areas of commerce, from education service providers, and publishers, to corporations in the chemical industry, personal security advisors, software designers, management consultants and a major supplier of material handling equipment and mechanical equipment servicing.

Adrien’s risk-based approach assures her clients of an outcome which will never unnecessarily impede commercial progress and avoids IT, sales, servicing, business development, finance and purchasing teams viewing the legal function as a “block” to their essential business activities.

Adrien's Experience

  • Reviewed and updated hire terms and conditions, sale of goods terms and conditions, supply of servicing terms and conditions and purchasing terms and conditions for key provider of material handling equipment in the UK and Ireland.
  • Negotiated the provision of a distributed antennae system to IKEA for each of its UK stores. IKEA wished, like so many companies when purchasing, to use its standard terms         and conditions of purchase (unsurprisingly were drafted in order to secure the supply of product for retail across its network) which were not appropriate for the purpose. A framework and call off agreement ensured that the details of each new store could be accommodated when opened and that the “passive” systems could be installed to existing stores in a number of phases.
  • Agreed valuable contracts on behalf of the procurement team of a major law practice, drafting terms for online services and, most notably finalising the agreement to manage the firm’s global business travel arrangements.

Adrien is a professionally trained singer and is still an active member of a local choir. She regularly attends concerts at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and sponsors a member of the Orchestra.
