Nick Gore specialises in personal and business UK immigration law, advising businesses, educational institutions and high-net-worth individuals on complex immigration matters. He has extensive experience advising on sponsor licence applications for organisations and worker applications across the Skilled Worker, Global Business Mobility and International Sportsperson routes. Nick also has expertise in challenging suspensions to sponsor licences, compliance audits for both Skilled Worker and Student licences, Global Talent applications, partner and fiancé visa applications, settlement and naturalisation applications.
Nick has been particularly noted for his skills in Global Talent matters, including for academics and digital entrepreneurs, and for the complex sponsor compliance work he has undertaken including for independent schools and universities.
Nick was a Partner at the boutique immigration firm Carter Thomas and held the role of Legal Director at a large national firm.

- Nick has led challenges to Home Office sponsor licence suspensions, including for organisations in the automotive, education, tech and care sectors, with a high degree of success.
- Nick has led mock audits for independent private school sponsors to assess their procedures and processes, review student files and advise where compliance can be improved.
- Nick assisted a high-net-worth individual with a naturalisation application involving extensive absences that may have led to refusal. Following a substantive argument that the absences were an unavoidable part of the client’s high-profile corporate role, the application was approved.
- Nick led a Global Talent endorsement application for a designer specialising in e-fashion. He strengthened the case and argued that designing outfits for the metaverse was an innovative interpretation of The application was approved.
- Nick has provided assistance in a Windrush case, arguing that an individual who had been in the UK for over thirty years held the correct The application was approved.
With two young boys Nick’s main interests are chasing and cleaning up!
When he can, he likes to play football (and as a long-suffering Spurs fan, watch football from between his fingers), go climbing and write fiction.
Nick is co-convenor of ILPA’s Yorkshire and North East Working Group, an editor for ILPA and has presented at the ILPA sponsorship conference.
