Hayden Cabey is a solicitor specialising in civil and commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He qualified in May 2023, having trained at a boutique practice in the city centre of Manchester where he developed a strong grounding in contentious matters, particularly contract disputes. His experience spans debt recovery, insolvency, breach of contract and misrepresentation claims, consumer and commercial goods and services disputes, and property litigation, including landlord and tenant matters, nuisance, commercial forfeiture, and claims under TOLATA 1996.

Post-qualification, Hayden joined a firm which operated predominantly in conveyancing, where he joined the litigation department. He assumed responsibility for the department approximately six months into the role and led it for around one year.

Hayden's Experience

  • Acted for a consumer in a claim against a motor dealership arising from the purchase of a defective vehicle. Successfully recovered 100% of the purchase price together with a contribution towards legal costs at the pre-action stage, avoiding the need for court proceedings.
  • Acted for an individual defendant in contractual debt proceedings. Successfully applied to set aside a default judgment, secured an award of costs in the client’s favour, and achieved the subsequent withdrawal of the claim.
  • Acted for a company in a litigated contractual dispute valued at approximately £30,000. Successfully negotiated and concluded a settlement within one month of instruction.
2023

Outside of practice, Hayden maintains an active lifestyle as a regular gym-goer. He plays football recreationally and is a committed Aston Villa supporter, having grown up in the West Midlands. He also enjoys spending time outdoors walking his dog.
