Simon brings more than 15 years’ experience advising clients across technology, sport and commercial law matters. He acts for entrepreneurs, FTSE-listed companies, nation states, rightsholders, and elite athletes on a range of transactional, IP and regulatory issues — including clients operating in the advertising, retail, property and SaaS sectors.

He is consistently recognised as one of the UK’s leading lawyers in these fields and has been listed as a leading Partner in both the Legal 500 and Chambers directories.

Formerly of Mishcon de Reya, partners Simon Leaf and Tom Murray  formed Three Points Law – a UK-based, AI-powered law firm focused on the intersection of technology, sports and commercial law. Operating within the Excello Law network, it provides specialized legal services to elite athletes, fast-growth tech companies, and investors using modern, non-hourly, and AI-enabled (Legora) approaches.

  • Advising a leading international tech supplier on the UK’s most powerful AI supercomputer.

  • Working with several FTSE250-listed property companies on key technology-related contracts, including full IT outsourcing, cloud migrations and the development of bespoke B2B platforms.

  • Acting for several fast-growth SaaS businesses on drafting template terms, privacy notices, and bespoke contractual arrangements — including reseller deals with Amazon, the BBC and Nationwide.

Sports

  • Acting for international athletes and agents on high-profile transfers, contract negotiations, image rights and sponsorship arrangements — including opposite all of the “big six” football clubs and several top racing teams.

  • Advising international governing bodies, government departments and related stakeholders on major sports investments across football, motorsport, rugby and boxing — including hosting rights, sponsorship deals and the creation of a new private equity-backed league.

  • Supporting football clubs and their owners on key commercial and regulatory matters — including PSR/P&S-related advice, sponsorship agreements and template development.

SportsTech

  • Acting for a leading blockchain-based platform for sports and entertainment on marketing, IP and regulatory matters.

  • Advising one of the world’s largest social media companies on major sports-related investments — including opposite UEFA and 6 Nations — and coordinating international advice on rights exploitation.

  • Assisting fast-growth sports tech suppliers and the leading athlete investment fund on sensitive contractual negotiations, international expansion and IP protection.

Commercial

  • Advising one of the world’s largest Saudi-owned investment vehicles, as well as institutional real estate clients, on complex, high-value commercial and asset management agreements.

  • Representing a leading independent advertising agency and a major privately owned media company on key contracts with Hasbro, Channel 5 and Aldi.

  • Acting for a well-known non-profit organisation on commercial and data contracts related to engagements with international governments and subcontractors.

Simon regularly appears on the BBC and Sky News, and wider national and industry press, providing expert insight in sports, technology and commercial law matters. He co-authored the Financial Regulation chapter in Football and the Law and was featured in the 2025 Pro-Bono Recognition List for his extensive voluntary legal work.
