Excello Law welcomes leading employee incentives partner John Dormer

Excello Law continues to expand, with John Dormer, leading specialist in employee incentives and share schemes joining the entrepreneurial firm.

John brings more than 25 years of experience advising businesses on the design, implementation, and operation of both share and cash-based incentive arrangements.

Before joining Excello Law, John led a 10-strong team advising on share schemes at a specialist employee ownership business. He previously held senior roles as an Equity Partner at Wright Hassall, and in KPMG’s Performance and Reward team, having trained and qualified at Eversheds.

His practice focuses on the commercial, tax and legal structuring of incentive plans, and he will be based in Excello’s Coventry office, supporting clients across the UK.

Commenting on his move, John Dormer said: “Joining Excello Law gives me the autonomy, flexibility, and platform to shape my practice while collaborating with like-minded professionals. The firm’s structure is ideal for supporting the kind of agile, strategic advice businesses need when designing and managing employee incentives.”

Jo Losty, Chief Operating Officer at Excello Law, added: “We’re delighted to welcome John to the team. His deep technical knowledge and commercial insight in the field of employee incentives are invaluable to our clients. His arrival also significantly enhances our ability to support businesses looking to attract, retain and reward talent in a competitive marketplace.”

John’s appointment reflects Excello’s commitment to growing its national and international platform with senior lawyers who want to take control of their careers while delivering specialist, high-quality legal services to clients.

Lawyers can join Excello Law as consults, or if they want to launch their own branded legal practice, they can do so in partnership with Excello Law through its ‘Houses of Brands’ programme. Recent House of Brands launches include marine law firm Ocean Legal, commercial law firm Elevate Legal and specialist intellectual property boutique Ionic Legal.
