Excello Law appointed to new University of Leicester real estate legal panel

Leading new-model firm Excello Law is one of just four firms to join the University of Leicester’s first dedicated real estate legal panel.

This formal partnership will commence from October 2025, initially for two years, and builds on Excello’s years of existing experience advising the University on property matters.

The Excello team will advise the University on all aspects of their real estate portfolio including transactional work and development and construction advice. With dedicated property law specialists based in the region, Excello is well-placed to act for the University on the full breadth of real estate matters including acquisitions and disposals, development transactions, leases and general portfolio management.

The partnership will also extend to matters related to Space Park Leicester, a world-leading hub for space research, innovation and enterprise founded through a collaboration between the University, industry partners and government.

Lesley Stewart, University of Leicester’s Estates Property Manager, comments:

Richard Osborn and the Excello team have provided outstanding support to the University on real estate matters over the last few years and we’re pleased that they have joined the University’s first formal real estate legal panel. Their commercial insight and flexible approach align well with the dynamic nature of our estate development programme. We look forward to working with their team delivering high quality legal support in the years to come.” Richard Osborn, Partner in Real Estate and Property Development at Excello Law, comments:

“We’re delighted to be appointed to the University of Leicester’s real estate legal panel. As a proud University of Leicester alumnus myself, it’s a privilege to support the University’s ambitious estate strategy and contribute to projects that will shape the future of the campus and wider community. Excello Law’s agile model and deep sector expertise make us well placed to deliver responsive, commercially focused advice across the full spectrum of property matters.”

Other law firms included on the University of Leicester’s inaugural panel include Freeths, Nelsons and Josiah Hincks.
