Nigel is a flexible business lawyer who has advised on contracts from as small as trading terms for sole traders to as large as the sale of a factory for US$250M. He also advises on management buy-outs, group restructurings, private equity investment, private and public equity fundraising and joint ventures.

Nigel is a leading expert on contracts in the logistics sector (3PL & 4PL contracts, warehousing contracts, port facility contracts, freight forwarding contracts and contracts for the installation of mechanised handling equipment). As an ex-programmer, he is also well-versed in IT contracts. He spent 10 years at a major international law firm, where he gained extensive experience of listing African natural resource companies on the AIM market, and extensive transactional experience in the Former Soviet Union, having probably acted in more transactions involving Ukraine than any other UK-based lawyer.

Nigel's Experience

  • Acted for Central African Gold plc on its simultaneous readmission to the AIM, £20M placing and acquisition of the Bibiani gold mine in Ghana.
  • Acted for a Ukrainian supermarket chain on a ground-breaking joint venture with a French hypermarket chain.
  • Advised a market leading printing company on its 4PL road haulage contract.
  • Acted on the establishment of a leading private equity investment fund, as well as on multiple subsequent investments and disposals.
  • Acted for a worldwide technology firm on the licensing of its location finder software to a major mobile phone manufacturer.

Nigel is a keen skier and rollerblader, an opera buff and an average but enthusiastic cook. He lives with his wife and two daughters within walking distance from Chelsea Football Club, where he holds a season ticket.

ALEX PETROSCHUK, EUROVENTURES, UKRAINE

Nigel assisted in the sale of a business. He was extremely quick at reviewing all of the documentation and eliminating all of the unnecessary legal speak whilst ensuring that the document was watertight and achieved exactly what we wanted. Through his expert and pragmatic approach we obtained an excellent result, quickly and efficiently. We were kept fully advised and the accuracy and speed of his work means that he is also excellent value for money. Definitely a Top Lawyer, but on your side, not a big law firm’s. Would definitely recommend him.
