David Wilson regularly acts in all manner of property transactions and is well known for his expertise in landlord and tenant work as well as acquisition and disposal of office blocks, quarries, landed estates and other forms of property transactions for high street retailers, institutions, developers and private clients. David Wilson is experienced in all aspects of commercial property with specialisms in telecoms law.
David is respected for his ability to quickly and pragmatically work through complex title issues to deliver good and marketable title to clients and their lenders. David’s common sense practical approach and prescient advice mean he is well regarded in the commercial property market across the jurisdictions in which he acts.
David is used working as part of a team with other advisors acting in the same deals, be it corporate partners or tax advisors, and has recently completed the sale of a large off-shore owned landed estate in Northern Ireland for UK non-resident parties.
David's Experience
- Acted in the recent sale of the Delacherois Estate in Donaghadee Co Down to renowned house developer Lotus Homes for a significant seven figure sum. This sale involved the sale of lands with planning approval for residential development, a historic Manor House and Market House, agricultural lands and zoned lands. We were instructed to act on behalf of joint owners, one an off shore company and the other a non-resident individual which involved considerable input from tax experts.
- Acting on behalf of NI’s largest block management company CSM Property Management Limited with regard to block management issues that arise in respect of multi-unit apartment schemes. Instructed to resolve title issues where the original developer has not transferred its reversionary interest to the management company prior to entering insolvency. We negotiate acquisitions from the Crown Estate whenever title has passed under bona vacantia rules. This is an esoteric area of property law in which David Wilson is jurisdictional expert with recognised skills.
- Instructed in respect of the leasehold acquisition of telecoms mast sites on behalf of the above client which is new to the UK/Irish markets. David Wilson is known for his expertise in leasehold acquisition work and has a good working knowledge of both the Digital Economy Act 2017 and recent telecoms case law which enables us to advise this client which is interested in building up a portfolio based solely on the acquisition of mobile telephony sites.
- Lush Retail Ltd is a British cosmetics retailer, which is headquartered in Poole, Dorset which operates globally. David Wilson handled the leasehold acquisition of their flagship store in Belfast some years ago and has recently acted for them in lease re-gears for their Ireland wide portfolio.
- PF Howell Limited is a family-owned property company operating that owns industrial and commercial units on the ring road of Bangor, County Down. We have recently agreed lease renewals in respect of the continued occupation of the Factory Shop.

David enjoys the arts, travel, cinema, history, antiques and has a love of travel to central America, the Far East and Eastern Europe. He enjoys Irish Art and frequently attends exhibitions.
He enjoys socialising with friends, walking and following some sports such as rugby and tennis.
He enjoys skiing in the Winter and was very excited to attend Roland Garros for the French Open last year.
