Excello Libertas managed services platform at the heart of SPG Law launch in UK

The arrival of international litigators SPG Law in the UK recently, and the speed in which they were ready to process claims in the VW emissions class-action, was made possible by an innovative, new support services platform from the management team behind new-model law firm Excello Law.

Launched as a standalone business structure, Excello Libertas provides full operational, IT, HR, administrative and regulatory systems including case and finance management, PI insurance, secretarial and paralegal services, office facilities and marketing support for law firms either already in business or looking to set up.

US-based SPG Law is the first client for Excello Libertas. The structure provided by Excello Libertas has enabled SPG Law to establish a team and offices in the UK in a matter of weeks; helping them to take on claims in the VW emissions class-action, in addition to launching a class-action suit against British Airways.

George Bisnought, MD of Excello Libertas, commented: “We have considerable experience and expertise in providing solutions for the needs of today’s lawyers who are demanding more innovation, better ways of working, increased flexibility and solutions-driven services.

“Excello Libertas provides a suite of best of breed operational support services and will work well for international firms looking to establish a UK operation, as well as for UK firms looking to restructure and off load the burden of law firm administration and management and develop a more sustainable client-focused practice.  We’ve also had interest from teams looking to move out from big practices and quickly set-up on their own.

“Firms using the Libertas platform retain their own brand and culture but benefit from economies of scale and the support of a business driving innovation in the legal sector but, to all intents and purposes, it is ‘business as usual’ for their teams and clients.”

Marc Grossman, senior partner at SPG, said: “The beauty of the model is that Excello Libertas has provided an instant structure and platform for us to launch in the UK, while allowing us to retain and build our own brand.  The systems are best in class, the support team is pro-active in working to transition lawyers, teams and firms to the platform and we’ve enjoyed a positive and consultative partnership.”
