Excello COO Jo Losty talks recent success and next steps in The Brief

Excello COO Jo Losty talks recent success and next steps in The Brief Jo Losty, Chief Operating Officer at Excello Law, spoke to BCL Legal Recruitment as part of their regular publication The Brief. The conversation came more than a year on from Excello founder George Bisnought’s interview with BCL.

As Jo explains in the new feature, 2025 has been “a busy year” for Excello, with many talented lawyers joining the firm and record financial results announced. New offices opening in California, Belfast and Dubai have been key additions. “Our focus in terms of growth, in any of our jurisdictions, is finding lawyers who have the depth of experience, the following and the entrepreneurial mindset to ensure their practice will transition well into our model,” Jo explains.

The growth of Excello’s House of Brands model has also been faster than expected in the past year – the firm’s “variety of entry options” is recognised by The Brief as a “key draw” for new joiners.

Jo also looks back on her own journey to a leadership role at Excello, and ahead to future plans. “Recruitment remains our core growth strategy, appealing to lawyers who want to make the move into consultancy, but what is equally important is to make sure we can meet their needs operationally when they join us, to support their successful transition to fee-share,” she explains.
