Matthew is an experienced employment lawyer with a particular interest in the transport and logistics sectors. He has worked in various cities across the North of England acting for clients nationally and internationally.

Matthew’s main specialities are Employment Tribunal advocacy and advising on a wide range of issues, in various jurisdictions, including TUPE and collective consultation, restrictive covenants, senior executive terminations, trade union matters and discrimination. Matthew is also a regular presenter at employment law seminars covering a range of topics.

He was delighted to have been described by a client as “not a flowery lawyer”.

Matthew is also a founding director of Driver First Assist which is a not-for-profit organisation that has been created with the support of all the emergency services and is a high profile road safety initiative capable of significantly reducing the number of fatalities on our roads.

Interests

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys spending time with his family and young daughter in the Yorkshire Dales. He is an occasional golfer and a long suffering fan of Leeds United; he is also an avid armchair supporter of anything to do with football, rugby, golf and cricket.
