Environmental law, renewable energy and minerals specialist joins Excello Law

Brian Wake - Excello LawBrian Wake, a nationally-recognised expert on environmental law, renewable energy and minerals, has joined national law firm Excello Law from Dyne Solicitors in Cheshire where he has been a consultant since 2012.

Brian trained at Linklaters & Paines, specialising in commercial property upon qualification.    He spent six years working as in-house counsel for Tarmac Quarry Products and, since then, his private practice has focused on advising operators and landowners on major mineral and waste developments (including related planning issues) and renewable energy projects including windfarms, solar and anaerobic digestion plants.

With a national portfolio of clients ranging from large, private mineral companies to landed estates, Brian was a founding member of the UK Environmental Law Association and is an author and contributor to several legal precedent titles and other works including the title ‘Mines, Quarries and Landfill’ in the Encyclopaedia of Forms and Precedents, and the RICS Guidelines booklet ‘Form and content of mineral option and lease.”

As a Cantonese speaker, Brian has a particular interest in fostering relations with law firms and investors from and to China and Hong Kong.
